Fax Spoofing

Fax spoofing inserts “keep alive” packets into the data stream to make up for IP network delay that can cause fax device timeouts. The receiving device is spoofed, or fooled, into believing that the fax transmission occurs in real time, instead of over a packet-switched network prone to delays.
