uplink port

An uplink port is a port that can connect two hubs to form one larger logical hub. Uplink ports are also referred to as daisy chain ports. Uplink ports are different than other ports on a hub because the transmit and recieve lines are reversed to provide for hub-to-hub connectivity. Without an uplink port, a hub would need a crossover cable to connect to another hub.
