Network Addressable Unit (NAU)

An IBM SNA term used to collectively describe PUs, LUs, and SSCPs. They are called NAUs because they have addresses and can communicate with one another. NAU services are simply the services provided the NAUs in the nodes, together with the Transmission Control, Data Flow Control, and Function Management layers of SNA.
