Digital Service Level 0. DS0 is a 64-Kbps channel that provides the bandwidth required for one analog voice telephone line. The DS0 signal is the fundamental building block of the North American digital signal hierarchy. A T1 channel provides 23 DS0 channels, with a twenty-fourth channel reserved for control signaling. DS1 us equivalent to T1 and DS3 is equivalent to T3.
