Duplex is the process of transmitting data in two directions. There are three modes of transmission: simplex, half- duplex and full-duplex. In simplex transmission, a signal can only be transmitted in one direction. In half-duplex transmission, the signal can travel in both directions, but not simultaneously. Full- duplex transmission allows signals to travel in both directions at the same time.
