DAP

Directory Access Protocol. DAP is a protocol used for communications between the X.500 Directory service Directory User Agent and the Directory System Agent. DAP enables DUA services such as directory read or search, and supplies object authorization credentials. DAP defines its own protocol stack, installed on the client in addition to any other network protocol stack, making DAP resource intensive.
